On Wednesday, March 2nd, at 7 PM Central Time, Dr. Jeff Hood will share a message with us as we enter into the Lenten Season, as he invites us to hear the voice of Jesus through the words of inmates executed on Death Row in Texas. He will introduce the book he has written on this subject, called Last Words of the Oppressed: A Lenten Journey.
Here is what Jeff had to say about the book:
For Lent, I’ve decided to construct a text that brings together the last words of Jesus. Particularly, of those that were uttered by him in the final moments of the lives of oppressed people. For forty days (morning and evening), these meditations will center us on the mortality of our most vulnerable neighbors. Perhaps in such engagement, Christ will bring about a resurrection of justice within us all.
We invite you to join us. You can register for the service here.
